Bocce is a precision ball sport that originated in Italy and is now played worldwide as both a recreational and competitive game. It is a simple yet strategic game where players aim to roll their balls closest to a smaller target ball called the Pallino. Bocce is inclusive, social, and suitable for all age groups and ability levels, including as a popular sport in Special Olympics.

Basic Overview:
- Players: 2 individuals or 2 teams (up to 4 players per team)
- Playing Surface: Flat ground, court, or turf (indoors or outdoors)
- Equipment:
- 8 large balls (4 per team, different colors)
- 1 small ball, the Pallino (or Jack)
- Objective: Roll your balls as close as possible to the Pallino
How to Play:
- A coin toss decides who throws the Pallino first.
- The same team throws the first bocce ball.
- Then the opposing team tries to get closer.
- The team farthest from the Pallino continues throwing until they get closer or run out of balls.
- After all balls are thrown, the team with the closest ball scores 1 point per ball that is closer than the nearest opponent ball.
- Game continues until a team reaches the agreed number of points (commonly 12 or 16).
